Hello everyone, Welcome to GoldFinds.com my name is Scott Chiara, creator of Goldfinds.com. I am a small scale gold miner NOT a recreational miner. I first learned to prospect for gold at an early age of 12. My father and I used to go out several times a year panning in Clear Creek, located in Shasta County Calif.

 

By the age of 17 I had built a 5 inch dredge with truck tire inner tubes for floatation. Used it for several seasons before selling it. Found an average of about 1 ounce per year, sometimes more.

 

I then started snipping, my favorite method of mining, I have always been able to find more gold snipping than any other method, until I purchased my first Gold Detector in 2005. Now I combine nugget detecting with snipping. Water proofing my detector coil to search underwater then snipping out the gold.
