Just visited my local Gold Mining Supplies store in Sacramento Calif.  And to my disappointment the gentleman that worked there told me they might close the doors in the next month but was not sure. And when I asked him about other Mining Supply stores, he told me he heard that other stores were thinking and planning to also close.

All because they cannot sell any Gold Dredges, because of the illegal law SB670 passed by California law makers prohibiting placer mining on all streams in California.  I told him about the March 25th Court date, and that there is a chance the Judge could remove the Placer Mining prohibition in Calif.

If your in need of Mining Supplies you better get to purchasing them now, as I noticed there Stock was low, and all the Dredges were on Sale, like I think they were at cost.

There is a big difference in the amount of gold you can recover dredging over highbanking, more gold can be recovered dredging the streambed where a lot of the old timers missed.

The Mining Supplies employee told me Gold Detector sales are way up, but it may not be enough to keep the doors open.

For me I prefer finding a lot more gold dredging than very little highbanking. But I'm sure there are areas where highbanking can be profitable, my claim is just not one of them.

I really hope the law makers of California see the err of there ways on the current ban and repeal the law. I am not from California but it would seem that a lot of the laws that are passed there eventually affect everyone else across the country.

On March 25th 2010 there is a hearing in Federal Court Eastern District of Calif in Sacramento, the Judge may decide to place an injunction on SB 670, reversing it altogether.  We will just have to wait and see.  My understanding is that they (the State) cannot prohibit mining, but only regulate it, and when State law conflicts with existing Federal Law, the Federal Law preempts State Law. Which in this case it does, then I can safely say SB 670 is in direct conflict with Federal Law.

Scott your right and wrong.

the progressives just change the law or Constitution by saying it is antiquated and make new laws!

too much tunnel vision on what is going on in this state and country!

think back years.....

b. boxer standing before us and saying we need to become a more socialist state!
i waited for the shot from the grassy knoll but it never came....

Clinton giving our national forests to NATO and calling it a whole earth biosphere ...
but it had some prerequisites for the land.....the land had to be of a minimum size without roads.....years go by and people forget about the news on TV.

Oh, what's this ,now the new action of the all national forest devisions doing road closures right now!
new upcoming laws prohibiting activities within the national forest....
look at the bigger picture!

we the people are not in it!!!

remember our oath " ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC"

off the soap box now, I just get so pissed at the powers to be some times LOL...
